ibi USB try moving the device and plug it back in error message

Connecting an external drive to the USB of an ibi can result in the following error message.

Try removing the device from port and plugging it back in. If the problem persists, user
the desktop app to transfer your files to your ibi device.

The message can occur under the following conditions:

  • USB drive is password protected.  The password must be removed.
  • File System format is not supported by ibi
  • ibi USB port does not have enough sustaining power to spin up the external hard drive
  • Faulty USB cable or port
  • Faulty USB drive
  • USB drive file system in need of repair. Connect to Windows or macOS computer
