ibi uses convection cooling. This means hot air inside of ibi rises out of the top vents and draws cooler air in through the bottom vents.
Blocking the top or bottom vents on your ibi could cause it to overheat. When the temperature gets too high, your ibi may shutdown to protect from damaging the components inside of it.
You may also recieve a notification on your ibi mobile app: Your device is getting hot. Consider moving the device.
To avoid the overheating of your ibi:
- Place in a well ventilated area
- Stand in an upright position on a smooth flat surface
- Do NOT place on carpeted surfaces
- Do NOT block the top vents
